yeah, i'm bored and i did this last year and the year before.

the tunes of 2006 are starting to look like this:

THE FLAMING LIPS - at war with the mystics.

new KILLING JOKE record.

SIRHAN SIRHAN - self-released EP.

new DJ SHADOW record.  will it happen?

JESU.

GHOSTFACE KILLAH.

RETISONIC - levittown EP.

new DON CABALLERO.

ROMAN NUMERALS - debut on ANODYNE.

THE LIFE AND TIMES - stiff slack EP.

THE ESOTERIC.

mind you, these are just my bets.  i've heard very little of the above.  any suggestions/input?

no.  but those guys played me the roughs a while back.  and they've done those songs live the last few times i've seen them.  it's really good.  i think this lineup of the band is really finding their voice.

Rock and Rock

...I'm really enjoying Worldwide Lestening Problem.... it's nice to be able to tap my foot once in a while. But really I'm just impressed that it maintained a lot of the integrety of the original Don Cab, but with all new stringed musicians.  But, if you're only gonna put ten songs on a damn album, don't make one of them filler...  at least when Houston did it they had sixteen songs on the album and Orange 9mm had 14.  I suppose, at least it isn't Tool's new effort with a grand total of 4 listenable songs out of 11...

i've only heard 3 or 4 of those new don cab songs.  i really like what i've heard.  seems like when i last saw them, the new stuff is what came off the best with that lineup.

Helmet is due out with an album on July 17th that I'm really looking forward too.  They re-recruited the producer from Strap it On and said they're going for an overall "raw" feel.  I'm really looking forward to it actually.  I just wish I knew who his rythym section was.

Also I'm really looking forward to hearing the progress TLAT has made on the new EP.

Lane had also mentioned something about a Sweet Sweet Bitches release later this year...

but, it's still only June....

Yeah, the Chris Traynor situation is interesting.  Depending on which site you check and which source you ask he's either the bass player or the lead.  On there official site he's lead and on MysSpace he's bass... I beleive.  JG tried out for them? Seriously?  That would have been amazing!  Gerken on percussion and Jimmy V on Bass.  That gives me an idea for a post....

Check this out.
