I'm not really playing by 2007 guidelines, but here are 4 others that I've been flavor tasting:
official 07's:
- Field Music - Tones of Town (seems like an 06, but the official release was Jan 2007) - might be the album of the decade so far
- Bottom of The Hudson - Fantastic Hawk - has it's moments, just wish the singer could sing less through his nose, which sounds like it's filled with a bag of sweaty boogers
These 2 albums were both released in the second half of 2006, but I've only been enjoying in 07:
- Subtle - For Hero: For Fool - easily the best band in the Bay Area
- Hot Chip - The Warning - these guys like keyboards, and they use 'em well

yeah, i thought field music was '06 - it was on my '06 list - but if it dropped in '07, then i'll use it again! it really is an awesome one. i'm waiting for that band to explode.
i'll be checking out yr other picks.

Yeah, truly a special band.......
but unfortunately, the rumors are that they will be putting the band to rest for a while. I really hope that's false.
I think you'll dig the subtle and hot chip.

fuck, i hope so. that band keeps getting better and better.
i've been so on the fence with minus the bear for the last four years. i'll occasionally hear random songs of theirs through other people and i like it. but whenever i listen to them at home, they put me to sleep. i remember them being ok live. maybe i'm checking out the wrong stuff.
ADDITION to this thread: the new UNSANE and SHELLAC records.
